One of the most instrumental video games from my childhood was Quake 3 Arena. I got it for Christmas 2002 with my Sega Dreamcast console, and from the moment I popped that game in, I was hooked.

Quake 3 Arena was unlike the Quake games that came before it. The graphics were excellent, and the gameplay was exhilarating. And it was one of the first arena shooters with online multiplayer.

So when I got the Xbox 360 and heard the announcement for Quake 4, I was noticeably excited. It’s been a lot of years now, and I recently popped this game in to play it with my son.

The gameplay is still great to this day, and you can’t underestimate the graphics that the Xbox 360 was capable of. Even all these years later, the console is still impressive.
